Pooja Hegde, who has been absent from Kollywood for a while, will make a comeback, playing the female lead in the upcoming Vijay movie, tentatively titled Thalapathy 65.
Hegde, who made her Kollywood debut with Mysskin's Mugamoodi, has been busy with Tollywood and Bollywood movies. She was last seen in Allu Arjun-starrer Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, released in January 2020.
Director Nelson Dilipkumar took to Twitter to welcome Hegde to the project after Sun Pictures, in a tweet, announced that she will be playing the female lead in Thalapathy 65. "Welcome onboard @hegdepooja," he wrote.

Hegde said she is excited to be part of the project, and said "Tamil cinema, here I come."

Bankrolled by Sun Pictures, Thalapathy 65 is expected to be an action drama, if promos are anything to go by.
