Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey explored topics like race, title and anguish the couple dealt with while leading the royal life. The revelations in the interview sure have stirred reactions from fans and critics alike.

Actor and former television host Simi Garewal, on Twitter, called Meghan 'evil'. “#OprahMeghanHarry I don’t believe a word Meghan says. Not a word. She is lying to make herself a victim. She is using the race card to gain sympathy. Evil,” she wrote on the social media platform.

Tennis player Serena Williams wrote on Twitter, Meghan Markle, my selfless friend, lives her life - and leads by example - with empathy and compassion. She teaches me every day what it means to be truly noble. Her words illustrate the pain and cruelty she's experienced. I know first hand the sexism and racism institutions and the media use to vilify women and people of colour to minimize us, to break us down and demonise us.”

Poet Amanda Gorman wrote, "Meghan was the Crown's greatest opportunity for change, regeneration, and reconciliation in a new era. They didn't just maltreat her light —they missed out on it."

Several shocking revelations were made on the interview, including that Prince Harry no longer shares a close relationship with his brother William and that there were murmurs in the palace, when Meghan was pregnant, about the colour of their child's skin.

Meghan also revealed that she felt suicidal on account of the negative media coverage she faced while being a royal.

Commenting on the interview that garnered over 17.1 million views, writer Michael Moore wrote on Twitter, “A withering interview w/ Harry & Meghan via Oprah. The Kingdom which first brought slaves here 400yrs ago has their current racism outed in all its brutality—how black will her kids be? The Palace refused to provide security for her baby. Meghan, crushed, considered suicide. Wow.”

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki told Reuters, "Meghan Markle is a private citizen, and so is Harry. At this point, for anyone to come forward and speak about their own struggles with mental health and tell their own personal story that takes courage, that is certainly something the president believes. Let me just reiterate that we have a strong and abiding relationship with the British people and a special partnership with the government of the United Kingdom on a range of issues and that will continue."

The youngest child of the late US civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr, Bernice King said, "Royalty is not a shield from the devastation and despair of racism."

American journalist Megyn Kelly told ITV, “Meghan goes onto say, I don’t believe in any of the grandeur. There’s an article already up on the New York Post here in the States that’s saying this is the person who had Clooney and Oprah at her wedding even though she didn’t even know them, and then covered herself in blood diamonds from a Saudi prince, so like, spare us that you’re not into any of the grandeur.”

“Can we please take a moment to remember how obscene the behaviour of the press and palace was in anticipation of an interview that actually turned out to be quite vague and tame? What did they THINK Meghan and Harry were going to say? What must they have done to be so afraid?” Actor Jameela Jamil wrote on Twitter.

The Buckingham palace, per usual hasn't reacted to any of the revelations made in the interview. Days before the interview, they announced that they would investigate a complain raised by an aide of Meghan Markle in 2018. the aide had complained that Meghan was bullying and one of the members of the staff was driven to tears by the duchess.
