Actor Ranbir Kapoor has tested positive for COVID-19, his mother Neetu Kapoor confirmed on Tuesday.

“Thank you for your concern and your good wishes. Ranbir has tested positive for Covid-19. He is on medication and recovering well. He is in self-quarantine at home and following all precautions,” she wrote on social media.

Earlier in the day, his uncle Randhir Kapoor had said that the actor is unwell. Speaking to Pinkvilla, he said, "I believe he is not well, but I am not sure what he has got. I am not in town.”

Neetu Kapoor had tested positive for coronavirus while shooting for Jug Jug Jeeyo.

On the work front, Ranbir is awaiting the release of Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra, also featuring Alia Bhatt. The actor will also be seen in Shamshera releasing later this year, in which he is said to play double roles. He has also signed up for Luv Ranjan's next film along with Shraddha Kapoor.
