Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt had sparked engagement rumours after they were spotted in Jaipur on Tuesday, along with Neetu Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor. However, Ranbir's uncle Randhir Kapoor refuted the rumours and said they are just on a new year vacation. Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have also joined them.
In a statement to the Indian Express, he said: "It is not true. If Ranbir and Alia were to get engaged today, my family and I would have also been there with them. Ranbir, Alia and Neetu have gone there for holidays and to bring in the new year. The news of their engagement is incorrect."
On Tuesday, Neetu took to Instagram stories to share photos. One of the pictures featured Neetu with Ranveer and Ranbir. In another photograph, she is seen with her daughter Riddhima.
This comes days after Ranbir revealed that he would have married Alia this year had it not been for the pandemic. In a recent interview with Rajeev Masand, Ranbir talked about marriage and said that the deal would have been ‘sealed’ had the ‘pandemic not hit our lives’. “I don’t want to jinx it by saying anything. I want to tick mark that goal very soon in my life,” he said.
