On Thursday, a day before the demise of singer SP Balasubrahmanyam, Bollywood actor Saman Khan tweeted prayers and wishes for SPB’s recovery. He signed off the tweet as ‘your dil dewana hero prem’.
While SPB will be remembered for his evergreen numbers across languages, fans of Salman Khan will remember the legendary singer as the actor’s voice in the 90s.

He lent his voice to Salman's songs in his early films Maine Pyar Kiya, Saajan, Hum Aapke Hain Koun! to name a few. Maine Pyar Kiya, starring Salman and Bhagyashree, was a major break for the actor and the film featured some hits sung by SPB.
In Saajan, another one of Salman’s popular romance dramas, SPB voiced the popular song ‘Tumse Milne ki Tamanna Hai’. The song features Salman along with Madhuri Dixit.
SPB was roped in for Salman’s yet another superhit family drama Hum Aapke Hain Koun, with memorable songs like ‘Didi Tera Devar Deewana’, and ‘Pehla Pehla Pyaar’.
In 2013, SPB became the voice of Shah Rukh Khan the title track of the hit film Chennai Express. “SP loved the idea and agreed to go on board. It is the first time that he has sung for Shah Rukh Khan,” the TOI had quoted a source as saying about the project.
