Amid frictions with Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, actress Kangana Ranaut on Sunday met with Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari at Raj Bhavan. In the meeting that lasted 45 minutes, Ranaut said the governor heard her “like his daughter” and that she believes she will get justice “so that the faith of all citizens including young girls is restored in the system”.

“A short while ago I met His Excellency the Governor of Maharashtra Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari Ji. I explained my point of view to him and also requested that justice be given to me it will restore faith of common citizen and particularly daughters in the system,” the actress tweeted.

Ranaut was accompanied by her sister, Rangoli, and told the governor about the “unfair” treatment meted out to her by the state government.

After taking up the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, which Ranaut initially said was not a suicide but a “planned murder” by an industry that does not acknowledge outsiders. She since escalated her attack to tackle the alleged drug nexus in the city, as well as targeting the Maharashtra government for its handling of the case, sparking anger after she compared Mumbai to Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir.

Her spat with Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut led to her receiving Y-plus security—a detail of around 10 armed commandos who accompany the actress whenever she travels.

When she arrived in Mumbai from her home in Himachal Pradesh, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation began the process of bringing down allegedly illegal alterations to her bungalow and office, with a demolition crew.

Ranat then moved the Bombay High Court which stayed the demolition. Complaining that the house was illegally broken down with only a 24 hour notice, she issued a stern warning to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, saying his “arrogance” would be demolished.

Raut, meanwhile, has said that his party has “stopped talking about the Kangana Ranaut issue” and plans to raise the Indo-China border issue in the upcoming parliamentary session, as well as GST, rising unemployment and other things.

“But we're taking note of everything & every action which precipitates, in this matter. We'll understand which political party and which individual, think what, of our great state,” Raut told ANI.
