Kangana Ranaut has arrived at the Mumbai airport, amid an ongoing tussle with the Shiv Sena government in Maharashtra. Ahead of her arrival, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), had carried out demolition of ‘illegal construction’ at her Mumbai office, following which her lawyer moved the Bombay High Court.

In a win for Kangana, the HC on Wednesday stayed the demolition of the property. The matter will be heard at 3pm on Thursday, her lawyer said, adding that Kangana will file criminal proceedings against erring BMC officials who carried out the demolition activity at her property.

According to reports, Shiv Sena workers had gathered in large numbers at the Mumbai airport. They shouted slogans and waved black flags. Members of the Karni Sena that had come out in support of Kangana, were also present at the airport, according to reports.

Jeevan Solanki of Karni Sena had said, “Karni Sena will be present at Mumbai airport on September 9 to support Kangana Ranaut. Karni Sena members will be protecting and escorting Kangana Ranaut from the airport to her home.”

NCP chief Sharad Pawar said that the BMC action has "unnecessarily given opportunity to Kangana Ranaut to speak". Pawar said: "There are several other illegal constructions in Mumbai, it needs to be seen why officials took this decision. Everyone knows Mumbai Police works for the security and you should not give publicity to these people."
