Actress Kubbra Sait and Team Kangana Ranaut have been locked in a war of words on Twitter after Sait tweeted in support of #SuspendTeamKangana campaign.

On Monday, Kubbra Sait joined the trending hashtag #SuspendTeamKangana, and wrote: "I would passionately support this suspension. It would be grand if Twitter India sees it too. Today was the only day the handle shared something positive, which is a rarity. But now, enough no?"

This led to Team Kangana Ranaut asking why she was "campaigning against (Kangana's) freedom of speech" and accusing her of "wanting to please a few." Kubbra and Kangana had been friends, the tweet claimed, asking, "what damage has she done to you."

“Dear @KubbraSait you and Kangana have shared a lot as friends as colleagues which can be called positive, what damage has she done to you that you are campaigning against her freedom of speech? What is bothering you? Or you just want to please a few ?,” the tweet read.

In response, Kubbra said that the verified handle of Kangana Ranaut’s team has been toxic. She also added that she has unfollowed the handle and reported it.

The social media hashtag #SuspendTeamKangana kicked off after a series of posts from the handle that targeted Bollywood actors including Ayushmann Khurrana, Swara Bhasker and Taapsee Pannu. Kangana’s team has been tweeting regularly, calling out ‘Bollywood mafia’, and demanding ‘justice’ for actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.
