With Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case taking several twists and turns, actress Rhea Chakraborty who has been named in the FIR, has filed a fresh plea in the Supreme Court. In her plea, Rhea alleged that media trial and attempts are being made to already pronounce her guilty for the death of the actor, ANI reported.

Rhea had earlier filed a petition in the SC to transfer a Patna FIR lodged against her to Mumbai. The Patna police had lodged the FIR against Rhea and five others, based on Sushant’s father K.K. Singh’s complaint.

The FIR filed by Patna police invokes IPC Sections 306 (abetment of suicide), 341 (wrongful restraint), 342 (wrongful confinement), 380 (theft in dwelling house), 406 (criminal breach of trust) 506 (criminal intimidation),120B (criminal conspiracy) and 420 (cheating).

CBI registered FIR against Rhea’s and the others after the Centre accepted Bihar government’s plea for CBI probe. Maharashtra government had ruled out CBI probe.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has interrogated Rhea and her brother Showik Chakraborty. The ED is probing a case of alleged money laundering based on the FIR lodged by Patna police based on Sushant’s father’s complaints.

On August 8, Sushant’s father has filed a counter affidavit in the Supreme Court against Rhea’s plea to transfer the probe to Mumbai.

According to ANI, Singh’s counter affidavit states that the investigation in the FIR has already been transferred to CBI and thus Rhea's plea seeking transfer of probe to Mumbai stands infructuous.
