Television actor Sameer Sharma was found dead at his home in Mumbai, multiple news outlets reported on Thursday. It was reported as a death by hanging. His body was recovered by a night watchman, who alerted authorities.
"A case of accidental death has been registered and the body has been sent for autopsy," senior inspector George Fernandez, Malad police station, told Mid-Day. No suicide note was found.
According to reports, the 44-year-old actor has acted in TV serials like Yeh Rishety Hain Pyaar Ke, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki.
Sameer was currently seen in TV serial Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke , where he plays character Kuhu's father, TOI reported.
His death comes on the back of actor Sushant Singh Rajputs's suicide, which rocked Bollywood.
