Actor Ranvir Shorey on Tuesday, took a dig at hypocrisy of ‘independent-film-crusaders’ who have turned into ‘mainstream Bollywood flunkies’. “So many independent-film-crusaders have turned mainstream-bollywood-flunkies now. These are the same people who used to rant 24/7 about the “system” for attention before they were given entry into the pearly gates of mainstream Bollywood. #Hypocrisy much?,” he tweeted.

Responding to Shorey, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap asked Shorey who he was referring to and asked ‘whose flunky is who’. “Do you really mean that @RanvirShorey. If you do please explain. Please say exactly what you mean and whose flunky is who?,” Kashyap tweeted.

Replying to Kashyap, Shorey said he does not want to take names, and that he is not interested in mud-slinging. Ranvir wrote, “I always say what I mean, @anuragkashyap72, you know that. And I don’t think what I’ve said lacks any clarity. It pretty much explains everything. As for taking names, that’s beneath me. I’m not trying to sling mud, but just reminding people where they come from.”

This exchange between Shorey and Kashyap is grabbing eyeballs and users have been responding to their comments.

Responding to a user who called him a 'puppet of Bollywood gang mafia', Kashyap said his films are not produced by big banners like Yash Raj Films, Dharma Productions and Excel Entertainment. He added that he was the one who made Queen when actress Kangana Ranaut did not have work and when her film Tanu Weds Manu faced problems, he was the one who helped director Aanand L Rai.

On Monday, Kashyap had tweeted an earlier interview of Kangana  after the release of Manikarnika, and said he doesn’t the new Kangana anymore. He added that they used to friends earlier.

In a recent interview, Kangana slammed Bollywood for being responsible for Sushant Singh’s death. She also called Taapsee Pannu and Swara Bhasker ‘B-grade’ actresses, to which actresses including Taapsee, Swara and Sonakshi Sinha have been responding.
