Deepika Padukone who has been constantly speaking about mental health and the need to reach out to people, criticised a Bollywood paparazzi for posting the late actor’s videos on Instagram.

The video showed Sushant’s body being taken from the hospital to the crematorium. It was captioned, “Please note my images and videos cannot be posted on any platforms without my written consent.” Reacting to it in the comments section, Deepika questioned if it was OK for the photographer to post such videos without Sushant’s family’s consent. “Right. But it is OK for you to take this video and not only post it but also probably monetise it without his or his family’s written consent?,” she commented.

After Sushant’s sudden demise, Deepika had written on Instagram, “As a person who has had a lived experience with mental illness, I cannot stress enough about the importance of reaching out. Talk.Communicate.Express.Seek help. Remember, You are not alone. We are in this together. And most importantly, there is Hope.”

Sushant Singh Rajput died of suicide on June 14.  He was cremated at the Pawan Hans crematorium in Mumbai in the presence of family members and close friends from the film and TV industry. Ever since his death, a host of actors and filmmakers are speaking up against nepotism in the industry, and struggles faced by an ‘outsider’.

The actor made his Bollywood debut with Abhishek Kapoor’s Kai Po Che, which was adapted from Chetan Bhagat’s The Three Mistakes of My Life. Before his foray in films, he had acted in television serials, most notably in Pavitra Rishta.

His last film was Nitesh Tiwari’s Chhichhore, in which he acted alongside Shraddha Kapoor.
