'Initial days have been difficult': Mohena Kumari Singh on being COVID-19 positive

The actress and six other members of her family tested positive

Television actress Mohena Kumari Singh, best known for her role in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, has tested positive for COVID-19, according to reports. The actress and six other members of her family tested positive, and are currently hospitalised in Rishikesh, the Indian Express reported.

In an Instagram post Monday night, Mohena opened up about her health and said that she and her family are doing fine. “These initial days have been difficult for all of us at home especially our young one and our elders. But I’m praying it’ll all be over soon. We are fine. We have no right to complain about anything as there are people out there who are suffering way more than us,” she wrote.

She added: “But I’d like to thank each one of you for all the messages , prayers and love you’ll have been sending. It’s keeping our spirits up. And we have so much gratitude in our hearts for you’ll. Thank you all.”

Her Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai co-star Nidhi Uttam replied, “All our prayers and love to you Moh n the entire family. I know you are such a strong person you ll surely fight it & get well soon @mohenakumari muah.”

Speaking to the ETimes earlier, she said that nobody had any major symptoms. She was thankful that her situation was better and expressed concern about migrant workers and many who have tested positive, but don't get proper treatment. “Coronavirus is such that it spreads like a wild fire. It is our second day in the hospital, everyone is showing improvement and we will be fine soon. There are poor people, especially the migrants who are suffering. There are so many who have been tested positive and don’t get proper treatment or beds in hospitals,” she told ETimes.

Mohena Kumari Singh is the daughter of Maharaja Pushpraj Singh and Ragini Singh of the royal family of Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. She also featured in the TV show Dil Dosti Dance and has worked as a dance instructor on dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. She is married to Suyesh Rawat, son of Uttarakhand Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj.
