As the coronavirus spreads, with global death toll crossing 3,000 and over 80,000 infected in China, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan recently shared a video message for those in China. Chinese ambassador to India Sun Weidong shared the message on his Twitter recently. “Deeply touched by emotional message from #AamirKhan, movie star & ambassador of love. His support is full of hope, well received in #China & reflect our friendship. Believe we will eventually embrace brighter future when Spring flowers bloom across #China,” he wrote.

In the video, Aamir says that he has been closely following the news of the coronavirus outbreak and has been in touch with friends in China. “I have been following this tragedy with a lot of pain in my heart,” he said.

“My heartfelt condolence to those of you who has lost somebody close...these are difficult times and I know the administration is doing all that it can to bring things under control,” he said.

Aamir said he hoped things would get back to normal very soon in China. “My thoughts and prayers are with you. Sending you all my love,” he signed off.

Aamir has a huge fan following in China, with dubbed versions of his films like Dangal setting box office records in China. While Dangal was the highest-grossing Indian film in China, his other films like Secret Superstar and PK also performed well.

China's National Health Commission (NHC) said on Sunday it received reports of 202 new confirmed cases of coronavirus on Sunday, taking the total number of cases in the mainland to 80,026.

The frequency of new cases is the lowest since January 22 when Beijing initiated emergency measures, including placing the worst-hit Wuhan city and 17 other cities with over 50 million people under lockdown.
