Sending across a strong message to the Union government on Wednesday, superstar Rajinikanth said

violence in northeast Delhi was an intelligence failure.

"Intelligence failure means the failure of the home ministry," he said.

Answering a few questions from the media at his Poes Garden residence in Chennai, Rajinikanth said protest in any form should not turn violent. “Violence should be controlled with iron hands," he said.

Criticising the Central government for failing to control Delhi violence, Rajinikanth said the government should resign if they are unable to control the violence.

To a specific question on how deadly CAA, NRC and NPR could be when they come together, he said, "I believe that CAA will not be taken back at any cost by this government as the bill has already been passed. They have clearly said about NRC. Why should anyone get confused about it again? I am being dubbed as a BJP stooge for my views on CAA by some journalists and senior political observers. I am hurt by such comments. What I state comes from my belief and nothing else."
