Director Matt Reeves shared a video clip showing Robert Pattinson's first look in the bat-suit for The Batman. The internet cannot keep calm and Batman and Pattinson have been trending on Twitter ever since this teaser was released.
The video opens with a close-up of the armour, and reveals Pattinson's brooding look in the backdrop of some rather ominous music. The response to the video has been largely positive, with fans sharing their love for the look on Twitter. To be precise, a lot of praise is pouring in for Pattinson's perfect jawline as he slips into the role of Gotham's Caped Crusader.
Pattinson succeeds Ben Affleck who played the part in three films—Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad and Justice League.
Pattinson has been training for the film with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athlete Rigan Machado. Machado, a red and black belt in the martial art and a former Pan American Champion, has previously trained the likes of Vin Diesel, Ashton Kutcher and Charlie Hunnam. The film also stars Jeffrey Wright, Zoe Kravitz and Paul Dano and is set for a June 2021 release.
Pattinson broke out on the Hollywood scene after playing vampire Edward Cullen opposite Kristen Stewart's Bella Swan in Twilight series. But after the franchise ended, the actor switched to indie projects with films such as Cosmopolis, Good Time and most recently High Life. He was last seen in 2019 films The Lighthouse and The King, and will be seen in Christopher Nolan's next Tenet.
