Actress Taapsee Pannu, on Tuesday, officially confirmed that she will be essaying India's women cricket captain Mithali Raj in the biopic. Taapsee shared pictures of herself with Mithali who is seen cutting a cake.
Captioning the image, Taapsee wrote: “Happy Happy Birthday Captain @mithaliraj! You have made all of us proud in more than many ways and it’s truly an honour to be chosen to showcase your journey on screen. On this Birthday of yours I don’t know what gift I can give you but this promise that I shall give it all I have to make sure you will be proud of what you see of yourself on screen with #ShabaashMithu (sic).”
Taapsee Pannu has quite a few sports biopics in her kitty. She was last seen along with Bhumi Pednekar in Saand ki Aankh, in which she played an elderly sharp shooter. She will also be seen in Rashmi Rocket, biopic of an athlete Rashmi from Gujarat.
