Abhimanyu Raman, former member of Kerala-based band 'Street Academics', has been accused of sexual harassment.

According to a The New Indian Express report, a 24-year-old woman from Bengaluru claimed that the musician made sexual advances to her and sent her unsolicited photos.

The woman, who is an artist, reportedly took to Facebook to share her ordeal.

The woman said Raman claimed that he was diagnosed with depression, borderline personality disorder and bipolar disorder to justify his act and added that he called her an imbecile.

"This incident has left me so traumatised that I can't let it go. Raman is a threat to society as he doesn't respect human emotions and thinks he can get away with it," the artist said, reports The New Indian Express.

Following the allegations, 'Street Academics' announced that Abhimanyu Raman is no longer associated with the band due to behavioral misconduct.

Abhimanyu Raman (Earthgrime) will no longer be associated with Street Academics due to behavioral misconduct.

As unfortunate as it may seem, this decision has been made with due consideration to the well being of our family, friends and supporters,” a statement on the social media page of the the band read.

In another statement, the band clarified that Raman was removed from the crew due to sexual misconduct. “Abhimanyu Raman was removed from the crew due to sexual misconduct with women. It was first brought to our attention during an event held at Kochi, post which he was given an ultimatum. However he repeated the offence by sending obscene texts/pictures to another woman. Inspite of us doing everything we could to sensitise his behaviour, Abhimanyu repeatedly mis-behaved with women and we were left with no choice but to remove him. We would like everyone to know that we do not condone such behaviours and do not tolerate any sort of abuse towards woman. We know that expelling Abhimanyu might not be a solution to the suffering of the victims, but we hope that they will see this as a step in the right direction,” the second statement read.
