Putting an end to speculations of Tamil superstar Rajinikanth joining the BJP, the actor said on Friday that 'he will not be trapped' by 'attempts to saffronise him'.
He was referring to the controversy triggered by photos of ancient Tamil poet Tiruvalluvar, clothed in saffron.
"The BJP has not made any offer to me to join them. Attempts (are being) made to paint me with BJP colour. Like Tiruvalluvar, attempts (are being) made to saffronise me. I will not get trapped, nor will Tiruvallur," he said. Rajinikanth was responding to reports of BJP leader Pon Radhakrishnan inviting him to join the party.
Though Rajinikanth took the political plunge two years, he is yet to launch his official party.
