Taapsee Pannu wraps 'Thappad' shoot

The film is slated for a March 6, 2020 release

96-Taapsee-Pannu Money matters: Everyone is anxiously awaiting the release of Mission Mangal. The poster of the film, however, has gotten some flak for giving prominence to Akshay Kumar over the female actors. When asked about it, Taapsee Pannu, who stars in it, said that the reality is that Kumar will be able to draw more viewers. It is up to the people, she said, to change the situation by going for more movies with female leads. “Hopefully, in the future, it shouldn’t be about the gender,” she said, pointing out that ultimately, it boils down to how much money your films make | AFP

The shooting of Taapsee Pannu-starrer Thappad is complete, director Anubhav Sinha has announced.

The filmmaker took to Twitter to share the update on Sunday. "That's a movie wrap. #Thappad," Sinha wrote.

Taapsee said the last 31 days on the film's sets flew "faster than storm but left the same impact". "While most of the times I am thanking my stars to get a chance to work with such a director (in this case I got lucky twice) but other times I see it as a curse.

"Curse of too much comfort, too much ease, too complex an emotion simplified too easily, too much to learn, too much of happiness, the only thing too little is the number of days spent on set," the actor wrote alongside a photo on Instagram.

Thappad is the actor-director's second collaboration after the critical and commercial hit Mulk.

The film is slated for a March 6, 2020 release.
