After hearing a lot about the widespread acclaim that director Lijo Jose Pellissery's latest offering, Jallikattu, has been receiving at the festival circles, Malayalam movie goers finally got a taste of what to expect from the movie.
A teaser of the much-awaited movie, touted as a man v/s animal thriller, was released on Friday.
Jallikattu, starring Antony Varghese of Angamaly Diaries fame, Chemban Vinod Jose and Sabumon Abdusamad in the lead, had received a thundering response from the audience members at the latest edition of Toronto International Film Festival, where the movie had its world premiere.
According to one of the reviewers, the movie is an “exploration of man’s inevitable savagery”, and the teaser offers us a taste of the same. Adapted by S. Hareesh and R. Jayakumar from the story 'Maoist', written by Hareesh himself, the movie revolves around a buffalo that escapes from a butcher and the attempts of a group of villagers to capture it.
