After Shah Rukh Khan shared the trailer of upcoming Netflix original series Bard of Blood, produced by his banner Red Chillies, he has been getting criticism from across the border. Pakistani Army's chief spokesperson Major General Asif Ghafoor slammed Shah Rukh, and urged him to promote peace and humanity.

"Stay in Bollywood syndrome @iamsrk. For reality see RAW Spy Kulbhushan Jadev, Wing Comd Abhinandan & state of 27 Feb 2019. You could rather promote peace & humanity by speaking against atrocities in IOJ&K and against Hindituva of Nazism obsessed RSS. (sic)," Major General Asif Ghafoor tweeted.

Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat also lambasted Shah Rukh Khan for the trailer, calling it an 'anti-Pakistan' project. “This just vindicates what I have been saying for so long. Another week & yet another anti-Pakistan project. Now can we wake up, smell the coffee & see Bollywood’s agenda for what it is? @iamsrk Be patriotic, nobody is stopping you - just don’t do it at the expense of vilifying us (sic),” she wrote.

Bard of Blood, headlined by Emraan Hashmi, is based on a book by Bilal Siddiqi by the same name. The trailer begins in Balochistan where Indian spies have been captured and are about to be decapitated before they could relay an important information to India. Former spy Kabir Anand (Hashmi) is sent to Balochistan for the rescue mission.

The espionage drama, directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, will also feature Vineet Kumar Singh, Shobhita Dhulipala, Kirti Kulhari and Rajit Kapoor.
