As many as 20 artistes from Gujarat joined the BJP on Monday as part of its membership drive.
They included popular folk singers Hemant Chauhan and Sangeeta Labadiya, playback singer Bankim Pathak, musician-duo Shyamal Munshi and Saumil Munshi, film actors Jitendra Thakkar and Zeel Joshi.
Well known liver transplant surgeon Dr Anand Khakhar was also inducted into the party as a primary member at BJP's Gujarat headquarter in Gandhinagar in the presence of state unit president Jitu Vaghani.
On the occasion, Vaghani said these celebrities had put their trust on the BJP because the party always believed in the ideology of nation first, said a release.
A week ago, 40 doctors, including Padma Shri awardees Dr Tejas Patel and Dr Sudhir Shah, had joined the BJP in the presence of Vaghani.
