Just like Indians all over the world, actor Prabhas too is thrilled over the launch of India's second lunar mission Chandrayaan-2, onboard its powerful rocket GSLV-MkIII-M1 from the spaceport in Sriharikota. However, the actor has another reason to be happy about. The 43.43m tall three stage rocket GSLV-MkIII-M1 is named 'Baahubali' for its ability to carry heavy payloads.

Chandrayaan-2 comes 11 years after ISRO's successful first lunar mission Chandrayaan-1 which scripted history by making more than 3,400 orbits around the Moon and was operational for 312 days till August 29, 2009.

Prabhas, who was already fairly popular in Tollywood and had a huge fan following, became a pan India star and a household name after the release of Baahubali, a mythological drama. Baahubali: The Beginning and its squeal Baahubali 2: The Conclusion were box office success both across India and outside. The movies had Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, and Tamannaah in the lead roles apart from Prabhas.

The actor took to Instagram to share a picture of the launch and express his happiness. "Hello Darlings! It is a proud day for all of us Indians as ISRO's Chandrayaan-2 took flight today. It is a further honor for the entire Baahubali Team with the rocket being regarded as #Baahubali for its magnum opus scale, years of hardwork in the making & first of its kind capacity to carry 300 tonnes. 🙌🏻 More Power to India," he wrote on Instagram.

Currently, Prabhas is awaiting the release of Saaho, an action thriller which is set to be released on August 30. The movie has Prabhas, Shraddha Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Neil Nitin Mukesh, and Arun Vijay in the lead roles.
