American singer R. Kelly was arrested in Chicago on Thursday on charges of child pornography and sex trafficking. The 52-year old was arrested on 13 federal sex crime charges, and is expected to be taken to New York.
Further details of the charges will be announced on Friday.
The R&B singer has been in the news regularly with accusations of sexual abuse. In 2008, Kelly was acquitted of child pornography charges, after a video allegedly showed him engaging in sexual activity with a 13-year-old girl. In May this year, Kelly was charged with 11 counts of sex crimes against four women, three of them who were minors when the abuse happened. Kelly had pleased not guilty to all counts.
