Politicians and celebrities are used to bullying or every kind, both online and offline. Over the years, many of them have developed a thick skin and even have learnt to give it back in style.
Union minister Smriti Irani too is no stranger to offensive comments and verbal attacks, and she has proved that she has enough mettle in her to give it back in equal measure.
In a recent Instagram post, Irani took on a student who bullied her daughter her. She said the boy mocked her daughter and asked his friends in the class to humiliate her over her looks in a recent Instagram post that Irani had shared.
She said her daughter asked her to delete the post after her classmates started to make fun of her. She obliged to her daughter's request initially, but decided to post another picture with a strongly worded message.
"I deleted my daughter’s selfie yesterday coz an idiot bully in her class ,A Jha ,mocks her for her looks & tells his pals in class to humiliate her for how she looks in her mother’s insta post. My child pleaded with me ‘ Ma please delete it, they are making fun of me’. I obliged coz I could not stand her tears. Then I realised my act just supported the bully . So Mr Jha , my daughter is an accomplished sports person, record holder in Limca Books, 2 Nd Dan black belt in Karate, at the World Championships has been awarded bronze medal twice; is a loving daughter and yes damn beautiful. Bully her all you want , she will fight back. She is Zoish Irani and I’m proud to be her Mom," her post read.
The post garnered over 50,000 likes within a few hours. Many of her followers on Instagram, including a few celebrities, commended the way Smriti Irani reacted to the entire episode.
