Anurag Kashyap is no stranger to Kollywood audience. The director impressed the Tamil movie goers with his performance in the Nayanthara starrer Imaikkaa Nodigal in which he essayed the role of a serial killer.

Now, the Gangs of Wasseypur director has revealed that he was impressed by a recent Tamil movie. Anurag Kashyap took to Twitter to admit his admiration for Kaala, directed by Pa. Ranjith with Rajinikanth in the lead. He was responding to a tweet by Pa. Ranjith in which the later said, “Dear @anuragkashyap72 ,I have been a big fan of your films. Happy to have spent this evening with you. I am glad you liked #Kaala 🎉🎉. Thanks for the conversation and the great food.”

In response to Pa. Ranjith's tweet, Kashyap wrote: “So late to see Kaala but now I want to see all the films of @beemji”.

Kaala was a star-studded affair with Nana Patekar playing the antagonist and Huma Qureshi essaying the role of Rajinikanth's love interest in his younger days. The movie was about Karikaalan aka Kaala, sort of a saviour to the Tamilians staying in Dharavi, who stands up against Abhayankar (Nana Patekar), a politician who wants to demolish the slum they live in to construct high-rise buildings.
