Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh's pre-wedding festivities kicked off in Lake Como, Italy, as the couple is all set to tie the knot on November 14, 15.

Deepika and Ranveer exchanged rings and celebrated mehendi and sangeet ceremonies on Tuesday. While Ranveer's ceremonies took place at CastaDiva resort overlooking Lake Como, Deepika's took place at the even more luxurious Villa d' Esta, about 5km away.

According to reports, Deepika and Ranveer will be married in a traditional Konkani ceremony on November 14, and in a Punjabi-Sindhi ceremony on November 15. The star couple has kept the guest list limited to family and close friends. For friends and the film fraternity, they will host elaborate receptions in Mumbai and Bengaluru later. The couple has requested well-wishers to avoid gifts, and instead direct the same as donations to Deepika's The Live Love Laugh Foundation that works with mental health awareness.

Deepika and Ranveer have ensured all possible measures to keep the much-awaited wedding personal, and out of the paparazzi glare. In fact, security measures at the location have been compared to those provided during meeting of world leaders. Security boats have been made to patrol the lake to keep snooping photographers out of the property premises. According to ANI, local authorities have warned boat rental companies against renting out boats to those from outside town.

Guests and visitors are made to wear special wrist bands, drone interceptors scan the sky, and security guards cover up the camera lens on mobile phones of the guests. Which also means, photographs of the bride and groom will be extremely hard to come by.
