Singer Alisha Chinai has come out in support of singers Sona Mohapatra and Shweta Pandit who have accused Anu Malik of sexual harassment. Following these allegations, the composer has stepped down as judge of Indian Idol 10. Chinai said she believed every word that is being said and written about Malik.

"Every word said and written about Anu Malik is true. I stand by all the women who have finally spoken up. May they find peace and closure in their lives," she told The Asian Age. She also said that Malik had been 'preying on girls his daughter's age' for a long time.

Chinai had, in fact, filed a harassment complaint against Malik in 1995. The composer felt the heat of the #MeToo movement recently after singer Shweta Pandit took to Twitter to accuse Malik of being a "pedophile and sexual predator", saying he misbehaved with her when she was a beginner in the Hindi music industry. Singer Sona Mohapatra had also called Malik a "serial predator". Malik, however, has denied all allegations.

In a statement, Malik's lawyer, Zulfiquar Memon said, "The allegations made against my client are emphatically denied as completely false and baseless.

"My client respects the #MeToo movement but to use this movement to start a character assassination mission is obnoxious."
