#MeToo: Sonam says 'hard to take Kangana seriously', Kangana hits back

Actress Tanushree Dutta's allegation of sexual harassment against Nana Patekar has set off a movement which is slowly gathering steam. After a former female employee of Phantom Films accused one of its cofounders, director Vikas Bahl, of harassment, Kangana Ranaut came out in support.

In an interview, Kangana said she “totally believed” the woman when she reported the incident couple of years ago. She also said that Bahl misbehaved with her, too, on the sets of Queen. “Every time we met, socially greeted and hugged each other, he’d bury his face in my neck, hold me really tight and breathe in the smell of my hair. It took me great amount of strength and effort to pull myself out of his embrace. He’d say ‘I love how you smell K’,” Kangana said.

The issue has snowballed into another controversy with Sonam Kapoor taking a dig at Kangana's claims, and the latter giving it back to Kapoor. Speaking at Vogue We the Women summit, Sonam Kapoor said Tanushree Dutta needs to be lauded for her courage to speak out about harassment.

When asked about Kangana's revelations, Sonam, however, said that sometimes it is difficult to take Kangana seriously. “Kangana is obviously Kangana Ranaut. She says a lot of stuff and sometimes is hard to take her seriously. I love the fact that she has spunk and she says what she believes... I don’t know him, I don’t know the situation. If what is written written is true, then it’s disgusting and awful. If it’s true, then they should be punished for it,” Sonam said.

Clearly angered with Sonam's response, Kangana spoke her mind at another interview. She slammed Sonam and said the actress did not deserve to judge people. “When I am sharing my Me Too story, who gives her a right to judge me?” Kangana said.

Kangana also took a dig at nepotism again and said: “I am known to be an articulate person and I have represented my country in many international summits. I am called as a thought and youth influencer to these summits, I am not known because of my dad I have earned my place and credibility after struggling for a decade.” She also said Sonam is not a great actress, neither does she have the reputation of being a good speaker.
