Actor-politician Kamal Haasan on Saturday made a donation of Rs 25 lakh to the disaster relief fund of Kerala chief minster. Actors Suriya and Karthi too donated Rs 25 lakh to the relief fund. A release issued by Suriya and Karthi's team read: "It's turning out to be a much heart-wrenching scenario to see the paradisiacal landscapes of Idukki, Aluva, Palakkad, Malappuram and Wayanad submerged in waters." Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan took to Facebook to thank Kamal Haasan by posting a picture of the actor with him.
Earlier, Pinarayi Vijayan, along with the leader of the opposition Ramesh Chenithala, revenue minister E Chandrasekharan, and chief secretary Tom Jose made an aerial assessment of the flood situation.
