The new CEO of Twitter, Linda Yaccarino, officially began her job at the social media on Monday, nearly a month after Elon Musk announced that the former NBCUniversal advertising chief will be the new CEO of the microblogging site.

With Yaccarino assuming the role of Twitter CEO, Musk will move to become ‘exec chair & CTO, overseeing product, software & sysops’

On Monday, Yaccarino updated her bio on LinkedIn to 'Twitter CEO', making it official. Her first tweet after taking over as CEO was: "It happened — first day in the books! Stay tuned…"

Recently, Yaccarino said she has been long inspired by Musk's vision to create a brighter future and now she is excited to help bring that vision to Twitter.

“I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Chief Executive Officer at Twitter. I’ve long been inspired by Elon Musk's vision to create a brighter future. Now, I’m excited to help bring that vision to Twitter and transform the business together. Everyone's feedback is VITAL to Twitter's future. And I’m here for all of it," she wrote on LinkedIn, adding, "Let’s please keep the conversation going and build Twitter 2.0 together!”

Yaccarino has also hired an executive, Joe Benarroch, from her former company, NBCUniversal. Benarroch used to report to Yaccarino in NBCUniversal.
