The National Stock Exchange (NSE), which was faced by a technical glitch on Wednesday, has resumed trading at 3:45 pm. The trading on NSE will be extended till 5 pm on Wednesday owing to time lost to halting of trading during the day, confirmed an NSE spokesperson.

A pre-open session took place between 3.30 pm and 3.45 pm on NSE, as it happens in the morning, after which regular trading started at 3.45 pm.

The BSE will also extend its trading hours till 5 pm on Wednesday.

NSE, India's largest stock bourse, witnessed a blackout on Wednesday across segments due to connectivity issues. The bourse said it depends on two telecom service providers for connectivity, and both failed simultaneously resulting in the outage.

However, the broader Indian markets were not impacted, as communication lines at BSE continued even as NSE faced troubles.

In June 2020, NSE had suffered a technical glitch. At that time, its bank option segment prices were not reflecting on the terminal linked to the exchange. In September 2019 too, the bourse's system faced a trading outage as investors were unable to place orders in the final minutes of the trade.
