Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday called upon industrialists and investors from North America to help the state grow into a one trillion-dollar economy and the country into five times that size.

The CM was virtually addressing the ‘Uttar Pradesh Investment and Tourism Event’ organised by the UP Association of North America.

“You can help the country reach newer economic, social and cultural heights. We can turn this into Uttam (the best) Pradesh with your help,” said Adityanath, speaking at the late-night meeting set up as per the convenience of the US participants.

The government’s commitment to make doing business easy in the state was demonstrated by the fact that one nodal officer was attached to every investor who would sign an MoU with the government, participants at the event were told. This nodal officer would keep the investor informed at every step of the investment process and also take feedback and resolve problems.

“Indians are known for their hard work around the world. Their interest and constructive contribution to the progress of the country is much appreciated”, the CM said.

He added, “Uttar Pradesh has been blessed by God and nature. These boons need to be changed to prosperity. The state has immense resources. Investments will uplift the living standards of people in the state”. He also said that the government was working rapidly to develop infrastructure.

On the issue of security, the CM said, “The possibilities offered by the state can only be realised when law and order is good. The present government has worked towards this with determination. Our law and order is a model for other states”, he said.

Participants at the event displayed a keenness to be part of the pharma, skill development, solar/wind energy, education, entertainment sectors as well as medical health/ophthalmology and software parks.

Other sectors which were highlighted for their potential were spiritual, eco and heritage tourism. “The kumbh at Prayagraj in 2019 was a feat in safety, good management and cleanliness. This was noticed by the whole world”, the CM said.

The CM spoke about Ayodhya, too, declaring that it would be developed as the “most beautiful city in the world”.

Sector wise policies and a second place on the ease of doing business ranking were also spoken of as the benefits offered by the state.

Investors who attended the meeting said that the immense work done in the state in the last three years was evident. “We want to invest and help the government in social causes”, said one participant.
