Unable to send GIFs, pictures, videos or stickers to your friends via WhatsApp? Fear not, it is not just you—there are reports of WhatsApp being down across the world.
According to downdetector.in, several reports of Whatsapp being down are coming in from Europe and the UAE, followed by parts of Latin America, Indonesia and Malaysia. Many Indians have also reported being unable to send or receive media files via WhatsApp.
Users are complaining that they are unable to send GIFs, stickers, images, or voice messages, with many saying they cannot update their statuses as well.

According to downdetector.in, most of the complains came between 4:00pm and 7:00pm.

As is custom, many users came to Twitter to complain about WhatsApp being down and post memes.
The current outage marks the first one of 2020. The Facebook-owned company had suffered a global outage in July 2019, just months after a similar one in May 2019 that affected several other social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Hangouts and more.
Facebook has yet to comment on the outage. At the time of publishing, some reports say that services have been restored.
