IndiGo announced on Monday that its servers were down in many parts of the country, adding passengers could expect crowded counters.

According to media reports, passengers in several cities experienced long queues at airport counters. IndiGo tweeted, "Our systems are down across the network. We are expecting the counters to be crowded more than usual. Please bear with us as we try to solve the issue asap..."

An IndiGo representative in Chennai told Indian Express that the airline's server was down. "Apart from Chennai, the Gurgaon and the Pune servers are also facing this issue. It will take a maximum of an hour to get this issue resolved. We are helping the customers through phone... particular software is down; the customers can still carry their ticket booking process through our website," the representative claimed.

In July, IndiGo operations in Bengaluru were disrupted by a server glitch, forcing staff to move to manual bookings. The airline said around 63 flights were affected by the server being out of action for around 38 minutes.
