Jazz lovers in Delhi has a reason to cheer. The legendary Stanley Jordan is all set to enchant the city on February 19, by ‘putting the classic back into jazz’.
This one-of-its-kind event, presented by Jazz India Circuit under its Jazz Yatra programme, will be held at One Golden Mile in the city, giving jazz aficionados an opportunity to relish the music of the 70s and 80s.
There will also be performances by Indian and international artistes with Jordan being the icing on the cake.
In November, Jazz India Circuit gave jazz lovers a taste of new-age contemporary artistes with the Goa International Jazz Live Festival (GIJLF) which celebrated ‘the joy of the experiment’— experimental jams of jazz filled with punk, funk, and other edgy styles.
Sanjoy Roy, MD, Teamwork Arts, says, “Post our very successful The Goa International Jazz Live Festival in November, we look forward to welcoming Stanley Jordan at Jazz Yatra this time. The Jazz circuit is going to be a smashing hit.”
