24 civilians injured in Afghan bomb blast

At least 24 people were injured on Thursday when a bomb blast hit a crowded market place in Afghanistan's Balkh province.

"Terrorists planted an explosives device in a rickshaw and detonated it among people in the bazaar of Dawlatabad district, injuring 24 civilians, some of whom were in critical condition," an official told Xinhua news agency.

The victims included women and children, he said.
