With his third double century of the year, Virat Kohli has all but batted England out of the fourth Test match at Wankhede stadium in Mumbai.

At lunch, India had managed a comfortable lead of 179 runs in reply to England's first innings total of 400. India were 579/7, with Kohli in crease and Jayant Yadav keeping him good company with 92 runs.

The England bowlers toiled away, but were unable to put a dent in the 215 run partnership between Kohli and Yadav.

Yadav surpassed the highest score by an Indian at No 9— Farokh Engineer made 90 against New Zealand at Chennai in 1965.

India scored 128 runs in 29 overs in the first session of play without losing a wicket to put them in command.
