Within minutes of launch, Twitter emojis for Indian Premier League (IPL) players took the social media by storm. Twitter, on Wednesday, unveiled special emojis for 30 of the IPL's biggest stars, including Virat Kohli, M.S. Dhoni, Lasith Malinga, Glenn Maxwell, David Miller and Zaheer Khan. This is the first time that cricketers have got customised emojis on Twitter.
To get the emoji in place, you have to tweet using the designated player hashtag and the emoji will automatically appear after the hashtag. Twitter has also launched a special emoji—the official IPL 10 logo—to celebrate the 10th season of the league, on the social media. The emoji appears with hashtag IPL.
The official Twitter handle of the IPL shared the news with its fans in a tweet, saying: "FAN ALERT: A first for #Cricket. Special @Twitter emojis for #IPL's biggest superstars. Go on, Tweet to unlock your favourite player's emoji"

While most IPL fans on Twitter can't seem to get enough of the cute emojis, some others shared their suggestions in interesting tweets. So, next time you decide to tweet about your most and least favourite players, do not forget to use the hashtag and get the emoji, too, within your tweet.
