Tennis ace Sania Mirza has courted another controversy after she reportedly made a few high-priced demands to participate in the annual sports awards ceremony conducted by the Madhya Pradesh government.

Sania was conspicuously absent from the event.

An Indian Express report said that the star player demanded a chartered flight to the venue as well as a make-up-kit worth Rs 75,000 if she was to be the chief guest of the ceremony.

Report said she also demanded five business class tickets for her assistants.

The report quoted state Sports Minister Yashodhara Raje as saying that she respected the tennis player but found her demands unacceptable.

The event which was scheduled on Saturday was pushed back to Tuesday and badminton coach Pullela Gopichand was the chief guest.

"We pay for economy class air ticket, accommodation in a star hotel and local transport," a sport department official told the paper and added that Gopichand agreed for this offers.
