Pakistan seal Independence Cup

Pakistan defeated World XI by 33 runs in the Third and final Twenty20 international match to seal the Independence Cup series 2-1 in Lahore on Friday. A brilliant batting display from the hosts saw them posting a challenging score of 183/4 in the allotted 20 overs. In reply, World XI only managed to score 150 runs. After World XI won the toss and opting to field, bowlers failed to click as Pakistan's Ahmed Shazad (89) and Babar Azam (48) thrashed the visitors all around the park. Other batsmen also contributed well and posted a challenging score.

India eves might tour South Africa with men's team next year

If things go as per plan of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the Indian women's team, along with the men's team, could be seen locking horns with the South African teams in a three-match T20I series early next year. In January-February next year, the Indian men's team will tour South Africa for four Tests, five ODIs and three T20Is. While it is still not clear whether the BCCI of Cricket South Africa (CSA) have come up with the proposal, an official of the BCCI has confirmed to ESPNcricinfo that such a series was "possible".

Singapore GP to remain in Formula 1 Worlds

The Singapore Grand Prix, which celebrates its 10th edition this weekend, will continue to feature in the Formula One World Championship for four more seasons, until 2021, the F1 organisers announced on Friday. The night race, which takes place on the Marina Bay Street Circuit, will continue as part of the Championship as one of the most attractive and spectacular races, the organisers said on the official F1 website.

Brendan Taylor set to play for Zimbabwe again

Former Zimbabwe skipper Brendan Taylor is set to rejoin his national side after ending his contract with English county side Nottinghamshire, Zimbabwe Cricket announced. Taylor signed with Notts in March 2015 on a Kolpak deal, in a move that was thought to have effectively ended his international career, but the 31-year-old batsman cited "family reasons" for his desire to return home, having helped the county club secure trophies this year in both the UK domestic one-day and Twenty20 competitions.

FC Pune City part ways with coach Habas

Indian Super League (ISL) franchise FC Pune City on Friday announced the termination of the contracts of head coach Antonio Lopez Habas and assistant coach Miguel Martinez Gonzalez with immediate effect.  "The name of the new Head Coach will be announced shortly," the Pune-based football franchise said in a statement.

Online ticket sales of HWL Final begin

The online sale of the tickets for the eight-nation Hockey World League (HWL) Final matches, to be held at the Kalinga Stadium here in December, has begun, it was announced on Friday. The tickets for the 10-day event, which is starting from December 1 will be priced at Rs 50 (East Stand) and Rs 250 (West Stand) and are now available online at www.ticketgenie.in, according to a release. League matches will take place from December 1 to 5. The opening match of the tournament will see Germany play England on December 1, which will be followed by hosts India playing Australia in the second match.

FIFA U-17 World Cup Trophy Experience kicks off in Goa

After enthralling fans across four host cities in India, the FIFA U-17 World Cup Winner's Trophy was officially unveiled in Goa by the Sports Minister of Goa Manohar Azgaonkar at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda on Friday. The event kicked off the Trophy Experience in the state, which is hosting nine games at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in October.
