Brazil and Spain stormed into semifinals on Sunday

Brazil reached the FIFA Under-17 World Cup semi-finals with a 2-1 victory over Germany in a quarter-final at the Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata on Sunday.

German skipper Jann-flete Arp put his side ahead by converting a penalty in the 21st minute.

Brazil struck through substitute Weverson Costa (71st) and Paulinho (77th) to win the thrilling quarter-final exchange before a 66,000-plus crowd.

Brazil will now take on England in a semi-final at Guwahati's Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium on October 25.

Spain 3 Iran 1

Spain produced a sublime performance to defeat Iran 3-1 and enter the semi-finals of the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Kochi on Sunday.

Abel Ruiz (13th minute) and Sergio Gomez (60th) gave Spain a decisive advantage before Ferran Torres (67th), who had a hand in both goals, found the target himself.

Saeid Karimi (69th) scored for Iran.

Spain will meet African U-17 champions Mali in the semi-finals.
