Just two days after his side were crashed out of the World T20 semi-final by England, New Zealand all-rounder Grant Elliott has announced his retirement from one-day internationals.
The 37-year-old said he is enjoying playing cricket at the moment, adding that he had already played his last ODI match.
“I'm going to reassess, let the dust settle. As long as I'm still enjoying my cricket, I haven't really made a call on anything yet. I've played my last one-day game, but there are three formats,” Elliott was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.
Elliott, who played his last ODI game against Australia in February, smashed two centuries and 11 half-centuries in his way of completing a tally of 1976 runs in 83 appearances he made for New Zealand.
The right-handed batsman had also played a major role in guiding his side to the finals of the Champions Trophy in 2009. He struck an unbeaten 75-run knock against Pakistan at the Wanderers in Centurion.
Earlier, the all-rounder had declared that he would reassess his international career after the conclusion of the World T20.
