UC mobile Browser, now with Indian TV entertainment

uc-browser

The UC browser from the China-based Alibaba group has many followers in India. According to web monitor, StatCounter it enjoys a 55 percent share among mobile browsers in this country.

Having establish its popularity by heavy infusions of cricket content, the browser has now

cemented its bond with Indian users, by tapping that other national preoccupation, Bollywood centred entertainment—by announcing a tie-up with Colors TV.

The partnership with Colors is centred 4 popular TV shows Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, 24, Big Boss and Comedy Nights Live. UCWeb will create multiple engagement platforms around these shows.

In the latest edition of the browser, unveiled recently in Mumbai, News feeds from UC feeds are now integrated with the browser. Once a user selects his favourite topics, the algorithm adapts and offers more information on the topic of choice. The information is shareable, can be customised and is available in 2 languages—English and Hindi, to be followed by other Indian languages starting with Tamil.

The personalised channel settings allow the users to choose their favourite news channels according to their individual preference. The browser also has a night mode feature that offers a convenient browsing experience during night.
