New Digisol USB wireless adapter supports 4G

Digisol-USB-WiFi

Leading Indian provider of networking products Digisol Systems, has just launched a new high speed 4G LTE USB adapter—DG-BA4305—offering theoretical download speed up to 150 Mbps.

One needs to stress the word 'theoretical'. I have never known any Indian data service provider to reach anywhere near this speed through a wireless device. And such devices are obviously limited by the speed attainable from the provider, not by the device itself.

That said, it makes sense to upgrade your WiFi dongle and data SIM to one rated for 4G since this is supported today by all Indian service providers.

The DG-BA4305 boasts some additional features like the ability to double up as a small emergency data store: It comes with a Micro SD slot that can take a card of up to 64 GB. You can also store any downloading data on your laptop directly to the SD card.

The dongle supports any make of SIM that supports 4G LTE Band B1, B3, B5, B7, B38, B40, B41 plus 2G and 3G networks. It comes with the new high speed USB 3.0 interface which will make it work that much faster with your computing device. Like most such devices, it has its software inbuilt and self-installs on your tablet or laptop without the need of a CD.

It works on almost all contemporary OS including Windows XP/ Vista/ Win 7/ Win 8/ 8.1/ Win 10/ MAC OSX10.7+, Ubuntu 12.04+.

The DG-BA4305 costs Rs 2,799 and if you are currently stuck with a 2G or 3G dongle and are using a 4G SIM for data access, it will make a lot of sense to upgrade to this 4G-ready USB adapter.
