 US President Donald Trump directed NASA to send Americans to the Moon for the first time in decades. "This time we will not only plant our flag and leave our footprint," Trump said at the White House as he signed the new space policy directive. "We will establish a foundation for an eventual mission to Mars and perhaps someday to many worlds beyond." Sending people to the Red Planet has been a goal of the United States for years.

Modi rides seaplane to campaign in Gujarat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi flew by a seaplane from the Sabarmati river here to Dharoi in Mehsana district on the last day of the election campaign in Gujarat. The BJP said it was "the first-ever flight by a seaplane in the country". In the evening, Modi will fly back to Ahmedabad by the same plane.

Apple acquires music recognition app Shazam

Apple confirmed that it is acquiring popular music recognition app Shazam beating Snapchat and Spotify. Built by Shazam Entertainment Ltd, a British app development company, Shazam is used by hundreds of millions of people each month to instantly identify music that's playing and see what others are discovering. Launched in 1999 as an SMS code service, Shazam made $54 million in revenues in the fiscal year 2016.

US House women seek probe into Trump's misconduct allegations

More than 50 female Democratic lawmakers in the US House of Representatives called for a congressional investigation into allegations by various women of sexual misconduct against President Donald Trump, who has denied the accusations. Over the past two years, more than a dozen women have accused Trump of making unwanted sexual advances against them in the years before he entered politics.

Bitcoin futures suggest steep rise in price to slow

Newly launched bitcoin futures suggested that traders expect the cryptocurrency's blistering price gains to slow in the coming months, even as it blasted above $17,000 to a fresh record high in the spot market. Chicago-based derivatives exchange Cboe Global Markets launched the futures late on Sunday, marking the first time investors could get exposure to the bitcoin market via a large, regulated exchange.
