Delhi Police on Tuesday took a woman, who allegedly honey-trapped BJP leader K.C. Patel and accused him of rape, into custody for questioning, an official said.
"We have taken the woman, who honey-trapped the BJP MP, into custody for questioning," a senior police official told IANS.
She was picked from her residence in Indirapuram area of Uttar Pradesh.
The incident came to light after the MP filed a complaint of extortion. He refuted the charges of sexual exploitation by the woman and claimed that it was a case of honey-trapping.
According to media reports, the MP told the police that the woman took him to a house in Ghaziabad and offered him a drink that was spiked. He said the woman took objectionable pictures of him when he was in a sedated state and later tried to blackmail him saying she would release the images in public if he doesn't pay her Rs 5 crore.
