West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday said she will not link her Aadhaar card with her mobile number. She also urged her party men to refrain from doing so.

“I don’t care. I will not let them link my mobile with my other Aadhaar card. If the service provider scraps my mobile phone connection, I will not mind,” said Mamata at an extended core committee meeting of her party called after the exit of Mukul Roy.

Mamata further said, “I believe they don’t have any right to encroach into my private life. They would know everything through my mobile number if I link that with Aadhaar card,” said Mamata. She calls it her fundamental right to protect privacy.

Mamata also alleged that central government threatened her personally not to talk too much. “They asked me personally not to talk too much. Otherwise they will ask CBI to harass me. But I cannnot be hard pressed in such a way,” said she.

“When someone shouts ‘Mitron’ people are shivering in fear. But I don’t know why they do that. This government will go in 2019 and they will flee the country out of fear,” said Mamata in a sharp criticism to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, without taking names.

Taking a dig at Roy she said, “No one can create an alternative to Trinamool Congress. It takes a long time to become a mass leader.”

She said if anyone in the party would like to leave the party, the door is open. “I would prefer if someone goes out of the party than doing harm staying in the party,” said he.

Mamata declared that Trinamool Congress would observe November 8, the first anniversary of demonetisation, as black day. “It’s the biggest loot. The growth rate has gone down and the country is on the brink of disaster,” she said.
