In an embarrassment to former IPS officer D.G. Vanzara, his son Arjun was arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau on July 5 for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 75,000.

According to sources, Arjun had reportedly asked for a bribe of Rs 1 lakh for altering a fake entry in land records. Police is also reported to have seized cash from his car.

D.G Vanzara, an accused in Ishrat Jehan fake encounter case, was behind for eight years. In 2015, he was granted bail and earlier this year, the court lifted the restriction that barred him from entering Gujarat.

Vanzara was given a rousing welcome at Gandhinagar Town Hall on his return to Gujarat and he announced that he would be getting active in public life for the betterment of the people of Gujarat.
